Islam is against terrorism and terrorist attack

An atrocity committed by someone who purports to represent Islam is especially disturbing.

The primary question that arises is whether such a barbaric act is justified in Islam. The answer is a resounding "no."

Holy Quran in no way justifies murder; it unequivocally states, "Whosoever killed a person ... it shall be as if he had killed all mankind" (Holy Quran 5:32). Such acts of violence are condemned in the Quran and by the Prophet Muhammad time and time again

* Do not force anyone to accept Islam:

It is not part of Islam to force the non-Muslim to enter this religion, because sincerity is one of the conditions of accepting Islam. And Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“There is no compulsion in religion”

[Holy Quran,al-Baqarah 2:256].

Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) is sent as Mercy to Mankind:

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We have sent you (O Muhammad) not but as a mercy for the ‘Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists)”

[al-Anbiya’ 21:107].

* Treatment with non Muslims

With regard to that, there are commands in the Qur’aan and Sunnah to the Muslims, instructing them to call people to affirm the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed), and to offer their wealth, time and selves for that purpose. This is only out of compassion and mercy towards all people, so as to save them from worshipping people and calling them to worship the Lord of all people; to save them from the constraints of this world and bring them to the abundance of this world and the Hereafter, even if they (parents) were to try hard to keep their children away from Islam and tell them to associate others with Allah and to disbelieve. Concerning that Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination.

But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do”

[Luqmaan 31:14-15].

* Treatment with non Muslim neighbours:

Islam advises us to treat neighbours kindly, even if they are not Muslim.

Al-Qurtubi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

I say: based on that, kind treatment of neighbours is enjoined and is recommended, whether they are Muslim or not. And this is the right thing to do. Kind treatment may be in the sense of helping or it may be in the sense of being kind, refraining from annoyance and standing by them. Al-Bukhaari narrated from ‘Aa’ishah that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Jibreel kept urging me to treat neighbours kindly until I thought that he would make them heirs.” And it was narrated from Abu Shurayh that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “By Allah, he does not believe; by Allah, he does not believe; by Allah, he does not believe.” It was said: O Messenger of Allah, who is that? He said: “The one whose neighbour is not safe from his annoyance.” This is general in meaning and applies to all neighbours, and the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) affirmed that the neighbour should not be annoyed by swearing three times and stating that the one who annoys his neighbour is not a believer in the complete sense. So the believer should avoid annoying his neighbour and refrain from doing what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden; he should strive to do that which pleases Him and encourage others to do likewise.

Justice to Non Muslims:

Concerning that Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity”

[al-Mumtahanah 60:8].

In other words, Allah does not forbid you to be kind, uphold ties, return favours and be fair towards the mushrikeen (polytheists),whether they are relatives and others, so long as they are not fighting you because of your religion or seeking to drive you out of your homes. So there is nothing wrong with you upholding ties with them, because upholding ties with them in this case does not involve anything that may lead to negative consequences. It was narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills a mu‘aahid (a non-Muslim living under Muslim rule) will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, although its fragrance may be detected from a distance of forty years.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2995

There is a hadeeth that speaks of that. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If anyone wrongs a mu‘aahid, detracts from his rights, burdens him with more work than he is able to do or takes something from him without his consent, I will plead for him (the mu‘aahid) on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3052; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

If any of the non-Muslims comes to our country for work or business, and has permission (from the authorities), he is either a mu‘aahid (one who has a treaty with the Muslims) or a musta’min (one who has been granted security by the Muslims). So it is not permissible to transgress against him. It is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills a mu‘aahid will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.” We are Muslims who submit to the command of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, and we respect those whom Islam instructs us to respect of those who have treaties and guarantees of security. Whoever transgresses against them has misrepresented Islam and has given Islam an image of terrorism, treachery and betrayal. The one who adheres to the rulings of Islam and respects treaties and covenants is one for whom it is hoped that he will do well and succeed.

Concerning that Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“and let not the hatred of some people in (once) stopping you from Al-Masjid al-Haram (at Makkah) lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part)”

[al-Maa’idah 5:2]

“and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety”

[al-Maa’idah 5:8].

There is no comparison whatsoever between what this world has seen the “non-Muslims” do and what the Muslims have done. The two World Wars in which 70 million people were killed were “Christian” wars.

Then there is the occupation of Muslim lands and the exploitation of their resources, which was and still is happening at the hands of “non-Muslims” of all religions. This should be borne in mind when speaking of the Islamic view of humanity and of love and compassion. Fair-minded historians should compare the Islamic conquests of other lands with the Crusades, for example, and what happened in each case. They will see a clear difference between compassion and cruelty, love and hatred, life and death.

What was mentioned above about Islam and how it regards non-Muslims, and what was mentioned about rulings is the highest level of love, compassion and mercy.

May Allah make this world a peaceful and secure place

Cheating non Muslims and disbelievers

Can we cheat disbelievers and non Muslims?

Praise be to Allah

If a Muslim enters such a country, he must adhere to the conditions that have been stipulated. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O you who believe! Fulfil (your) obligations”

[al-Maa'idah 5:1]

It is not permissible for a Muslim to betray them or cheat them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Render back trusts to the one who entrusted you, and do not betray the one who betrays you.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3534; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described one of the attributes of the hypocrite as being: “When he enters into a covenant, he proves treacherous.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 34; Muslim, 58.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to send his companions to fight the mushrikeen, and one of the things he advised them was: “Do not be treacherous.” Narrated by Muslim, 1731.

This is something which demonstrates the greatness of Islam and the perfection of its laws, for it forbids its followers to be treacherous or to cheat even its enemies.

This state has allowed you to stay there, subject to certain conditions, so you are obliged to fulfil them.

Based on this, it is not permissible for you to conceal your work from them so that you can avoid paying taxes and take the monthly allowance when it is not permissible for you.

And Allaah knows best

Praying in sitting position

Offering Fard Salah( Obligatory Salah) in sitting position

What is the ruling Salah ( Namaz, Prayer) in sitting position?

Praise be to Allah.

Standing is a pillar or essential part of the obligatory prayers, so the prayer of one who prays sitting when he is able to stand is not valid. But like all other obligatory duties, this may be waived in the case of inability to do it.

Al-Nawawi said in al-Majmoo’ (4/201):

The ummah is unanimously agreed that whoever is unable to stand in an obligatory prayer may pray sitting down, and he does not have to repeat the prayer. Our companions said: his reward will not be less than the reward for offering the prayer standing up, because he is excused. It was proven in Saheeh al-Bukhaari that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If a person is sick or is travelling, the reward of what he used to do when he was healthy and not travelling with be written for him.”

The guidelines for the excuse which allows one not to stand and to offer obligatory prayers sitting down, are as follows:

1-That he be unable to stand

2-That it will make his sickness worse

3-That it will delay his recovery

4-That it should cause great difficulty of such a scale that he will be unable to focus properly. If the difficulty caused is less than that, then it is not permissible for him to sit.

Al-Bukhaari (1117) narrated that ‘Imraan ibn Husayn (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I had haemorrhoids and I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about praying. He said: “Pray standing, and if you cannot then sitting, and if you cannot, then lying on your side.”

Al-Haafiz said: The words “If you cannot” were quoted as evidence by those who say that a sick person should not start to sit whilst praying until after he becomes unable to stand. This was narrated by ‘Iyaad from al-Shaafa’i. It was narrated from Maalik, Ahmad and Ishaaq that it is not essential that a person be unable to stand, rather if it is very difficult for him to stand (then he may sit).

The well-known view among the Shaafa’is is that what is meant by not being able is that it is very difficult to stand, or there is the fear that the sickness may be made worse or it may lead to the death of the patient. Slight difficulty is not sufficient (as an excuse). Another example of great hardship is dizziness in the case of a passenger on a boat who fears that he may drown if he prays standing in the boat.

The majority also quote as evidence the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas which was narrated by al-Tabaraani: “He should pray standing, but if he encounters difficulty then sitting, and if he encounters difficulty, then lying down.”

End quote from Fath al-Baari.

The hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas which was mentioned by al-Haafiz was also quoted by al-Haythami in Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 2897, where he says:

This was narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Awsat. He said: It was not narrated from Ibn Jurayj except by Halas ibn Muhammad al-Dab’i. I (al-Haythami) say: I cannot find anyone who wrote his biography, but the rest of the men (in its isnaad) are thiqaat (trustworthy). End quote.

Ibn Qudaamah said in al-Mughni, 1/443:

If he is able to stand (he should do so), otherwise if he fears that his sickness will become worse or his recovery will be slowed or it is extremely difficult for him to stand, then he may pray sitting down. Something similar was said by Maalik and Ishaaq… because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship”

[al-Hajj 22:78]

The obligation of standing in this case is a hardship.

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed sitting down when he was wounded in his right cheek; it seems that he was not completely unable to stand, but because it was difficult for him to stand, he was excused.  End quote.

Our companions said: Being unable does not necessarily means that one cannot stand and slight difficulty is not enough reason for not standing; rather what counts is obvious difficulty. If a person fears immense hardship or worsening of the sickness etc, or if a passenger in a boat fears that he may drown or become dizzy, he may pray sitting down, and he does not have to repeat the prayer. Imam al-Haramayn said: What I think with regard to the guidelines on what constitutes an inability to stand is that standing would cause hardship that would prevent him from focusing properly, because proper focus is the purpose of prayer. End quote.

The view favoured by Imam al-Haramayn is the view which Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen thought most likely to be correct. He said:

The guideline on what constitutes hardship is that which prevents one from focusing properly. Proper focus means having presence of mind and being at ease. If standing will cause intense anxiety which makes one ill at ease and makes him wish to reach the end of al-Faatihah quickly so that he can bow, because it is too hard to stand, then he may pray sitting down. End quote from al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 4/326.

Dua and Tips: How to secure good percentage, marks and grades in examination of school, college and University?

 Islamic Solutions and  remedy

How to achieve higher percentage, grades and marks in exam, school and colleg

Praise be to Allah.

Laziness is one of the greatest obstacles to attaining success and achievement in this world and the hereafter, and it is one of the most fatal psychological illnesses; it weakens resolve and prevents one from taking steps to do beneficial actions. Hence the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) often used to seek refuge with Allah from it.

It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say: “Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika min al-kasali wa’l-harami wa’l-ma’thami wa’l-maghrami, wa min fitnat il-qabri wa ‘adhaab al-qabri, wa min fitnat in-naari wa’adhaab in-naar, wa min sharri fitnat il-ghina, wa a‘oodhu bika min fitnat il-faqri wa a‘oodhu bika min fitnat il-maseeh id-dajjaal (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from laziness and old age, from sin and debt, from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the Fire and the punishment of the Fire, and from the evil of the trial of wealth; I seek refuge with You from the trial of poverty, and I seek refuge with You from the trial of the Dajjal…) Narrated by al-Bukhaari (6368) and Muslim (589).

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to Abu Talhah: “Look for one of your boys to serve me.” Abu Talhah took me out with him, riding behind him, and I served the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) every time he halted, and I often heard him say: “Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika min al-hammi wa’l-hazani wa’l-‘ajzi wa’l-kasali wa’l-bukhli wa’l-jubni wa dala‘i ad-dayni wa ghalabat ir-rijaal (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from worry, grief, incapacity, laziness, cowardice and miserliness, being heavily in debt and being overcome by men).” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5425).

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood said: When evening came, the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would say: “Amsayna wa amsaa al-mulku Lillaahi wa’l-hamdu Lillaahi wa laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah (We have reached the evening and the Dominion belongs to Allah, and praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah alone with no partner or associate).” al-Hasan said: az-Zubayd told me that he memorized from Ibraaheem in this du‘aa’: – lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer. Allahumma as’aluka khayra hadhihi’l-laylah aa a‘oodhu bika min sharri hadhihi’l-laylah wa sharri ma ba‘daha. Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika min al-kasal wa soo’ al-kibari. Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika min ‘adhaabin fi’n-naar wa ‘adhaabin f’l-qabr (His is the Dominion, to Him be praise and He has power over all things. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from laziness and the troubles of old age. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from torment in the Fire and torment in the grave).” Narrated by Muslim (2723).

What we advise you to do is to save yourself from this dangerous problem by taking the following steps:

-1-

You must believe that all things are in the hand of Allah, may He be exalted, so you must turn to Him, offer a great deal of du‘aa’ (supplication) and persist in that, especially at the times when supplications are most likely to be answered. To learn more about these times, please see the answer to question no. 22438.

-2-

You must remind yourself often that the period of university study, with its times of hard work and rest, joys and sorrows, is short and quickly comes to an end, after which there is nothing left but the results and outcomes of working hard. So you should always imagine yourself feeling the joy and satisfaction of one who worked hard, when he leaves at the end of the year, returning home with the results of his efforts, and imagine feeling the regret of the one who was negligent, and how he would go back to his family, brokenhearted and sad.

Imagining consequences is one of the greatest ways of motivating oneself to strive and to work hard, and to give up lethargy and laziness. For this reason we see many texts in the Qur’an and Sunnah which speak of the status and high levels of the righteous in Paradise, and the situation and low status of the sinners in Hell.

-3-

You should not let yourself be too absorbed in the present moment, because it could make you think that you have plenty of time. So do not look at your current situation and think that there is still lots of time, and you will be able to start studying tomorrow, or after tomorrow, or when the exams approach. This thinking that you have plenty of time is the cause of laziness and procrastination with regard to actions that will benefit you in this world and the hereafter.

Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Thinking that one has lots of time results in being too lazy to do acts of worship and obedience, and procrastinating with regard to repentance.

End quote from Fath al-Baari (11/237).

Always think that whenever you find a suitable time to study, perhaps you will not often have such a chance again, as you may suddenly become very busy, or you may face obstacles that will prevent you from studying. So you should make the most of every opportunity to study.

-4-

Avoid mixing a great deal and keeping company with those who joke and play a great deal; keep company with righteous students who are serious and hard-working. Keeping company with hard-working people will benefit you, in sha Allah, in several ways, including the following: you will begin to imitate them in their hard work; you will benefit from them by learning their ways of studying and learning from their experience; you will also benefit from their knowledge.

-5-

Sometimes laziness and lethargy are symptoms of some kinds of illness, so you can have yourself thoroughly medically tested, to make sure about that.

-6-

Maintain physical hygiene, and always take showers and put on perfume, for this is something that energizes the mind.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Because good fragrance is nourishment for the soul, and the soul is the driving force of the faculties, hence the faculties are enhanced by pleasant fragrances. Pleasant fragrances benefit the mind and heart, and all the hidden organs; they bring joy to the heart and gladden the soul, and they are the most appropriate thing for the soul. There is a strong connection between pleasant fragrances and the good soul, and perfume was one of the most beloved things of this world to the best of good souls, namely the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).

In Saheeh al-Bukhaari, it is narrated that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would not refuse a gift of perfume.

In Saheeh Muslim, it is narrated that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever is offered rayhaan (basil), let him not to refuse it, for it has a good smell and is easy to carry.”

End quote from Zaad al-Ma‘aad (4/256).

-7-

Exercise regularly, for it is beneficial in warding off laziness, by Allah’s leave; this is something proven and known from experience.

Narrated Salama bin Al-Akwa`:

We went out with the Prophet (ﷺ) to Khaibar. A man among the people said, "O 'Amir! Will you please recite to us some of your poetic verses?" So 'Amir got down and started chanting among them, saying, "By Allah! Had it not been for Allah, we would not have been guided." 'Amir also said other poetic verses which I do not remember.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Who is this (camel) driver?" The people said, "He is 'Amir bin Al-Akwa`," He said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on him." A man from the People said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Would that you let us enjoy his company longer." When the people (Muslims) lined up, the battle started, and 'Amir was struck with his own sword (by chance) by himself and died. In the evening, the people made a large number of fires (for cooking meals). Allah's Apostle said, "What is this fire? What are you making the fire for?" They said, "For cooking the meat of donkeys."

He said, "Throw away what is in the pots and break the pots!" A man said, "O Allah's Prophet! May we throw away what is in them and wash them?" He said, "Never mind, you may do so." (See Hadith No. 509, Vol. 5).

Death of Scholar: Greatest Loss of Knowledge

How is knowledge lost?

Sa’eed bin al-Musayyab [may Allāh have mercy on him] narrated: “I witnessed the funeral of Zayd ibn Thābit, [may Allāh be pleased with him], when they lowered him into his grave, ibn Abbās [may Allāh be pleased with him] said:

‘Whomsoever would like to know how knowledge is lost, this [here] is how knowledge is lost. By Allāh, knowledge in abundance has been buried today.’”

Source of True Happiness: Interview with Millionaire

*"I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you once again"*

In an interview, the Radio Jockey asked his guest, a millionaire, *"What made you most happy in life?"

The millionaire said:

I have gone through four stages of happiness in life and finally I understood the true happiness.

The first stage was to accumulate wealth and means. But at this stage I did not get the happiness

Then the second stage of collecting valuable items. But I realized that the effect of this is also temporary and the lustre of valuable things don't last long.

Then came the third stage of getting big projects. Like buying a football team, buying a tourist resort, etc. But even here I did not get the happiness, which I had imagined.

The fourth time a friend of mine asked me to buy wheelchairs for disabled. I immediately bought them... But my friend insisted that I accompany him and hand over the wheelchairs to the disabled children. I got ready...

I gave these chairs to the needy children with my own hands. I saw the strange glow of happiness on the faces. I saw them all sitting on chairs, moving around and having fun... It was as if they had arrived at a picnic spot.

One of the kids grabbed my legs while I was leaving the place. I gently tried to free my legs but the child stared at my face...

I bent down and asked the child: Do you need anything else?

The answer of the child not only made me happy but also changed my life completely.

The child said "I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you once again"

One of the sources of happiness is Charity

One of the sources of peace is Charity

One of the sources of  satisfaction is Charity and helping others

Act of giving is actually act of receiving

One of the sources of achieving  Pleasure of Allah is Charity

At numerous verses of Holy Quran and many Hadith, we are encouraged and commanded to help others, to give charity..

Benefits of Charity on Day of Judgement:

“O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the Zaalimoon (wrongdoers)”
[al-Baqarah 2:254]

Multiple increase in rewards of charity:

“The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allaah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allaah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.

Don't give charity as Favours on others and don't remind your Favours:

262. Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allaah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”

[al-Baqarah 2:261-262]

Allah accepts good charity:

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives charity equal to a date from good (halal) earnings – for Allaah does not accept anything but that which is good – Allaah will take it in His right hand and tend it for the one who gave it as any one of you tends his foal, until it becomes like a mountain.”

 Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1344; Muslim, 1014.

Two angels: Hadith on Charity

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no day on which the people get up but two angels come down and one of them says, ‘O Allaah, give in compensation to the one who spends (in charity),’ and the other says, ‘O Allaah, destroy the one who withholds.’”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1374; Muslim, 1010.

Those who do not give charity will be destroyed

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The people said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The rich people have got the highest degrees of prestige and the permanent pleasures (in this life and the life to come in the Hereafter)."

He said, "How is that?" They said, "The rich pray as we pray, and strive in Allah's Cause as we do, and spend from their surplus wealth in charity, while we have no wealth (to spend likewise)."

He said, "Shall I not tell you a thing, by doing which, you will catch up with those who are ahead of you and supersede those who will come after you; and nobody will be able to do such a good deed as you do except the one who does the same (deed as you do). That deed is to recite 'Subhan Allah ten times, and 'Al-Hamduli l-lah ten times, and 'AllahuAkbar' ten times after every prayer."

The most lofty and concise Praise and Dua

From the benefits of Tawheed and al-Istighfaar:

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
❝The best remembrance is: لا اله الا الله (Laa ilaaha illallaah) and the best supplication is: الحمد لله (al-Hamdulillaah).❞
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (3383) and Sunan Ibn Maajah (3800) from the Hadeeth of Jaabir رضي الله عنه and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

Shaikh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
❝For Tawheed removes the essence of Shirk and al-Istighfaar erases its branches. Therefore the most lofty and concise Praise is saying: لا اله الا الله (Laa ilaaha illallaah) and the most concise duaa is saying: أستغفر الله (astaghfiru-llaah).❞
[Majmoo al-Fataawa (11/697)]

Definition and meaning of Dua of seeking and asking and Dua of Worship

Duaa are of two types:
1. Duaa for seeking/asking (دعاء المسألة)
2. Duaa for worship (دعاء العبادة)

1. Duaa for seeking: asking Allaah for forgiveness, guidance, and that which will benefit in this world and the Hereafter. Similarly, asking Allaah to remove the difficulties, and to ward off that which will cause harm in this world and the Hereafter.

2. Du`aa for worship: worshiping Allaah by praising Him, thanking Him, fearing Him, loving Him, hoping for His mercy, putting one’s trust in Him, praying, fasting, doing Hajj, reading Qur’aan, doing the Adhkaar etc.

Beautiful Conversation with Lord Almighty in prayers

How our false desires keep us away from enjoying the true pleasures:

Ibn al-Qayyim {rahimahullaah} said:

When a person says (in the Salaah):
{الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ}
He should pause for a moment and wait for the response from his Lord to him, when He تعالى says:
❝My servant has praised Me.❞*

And when he says:
{الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ}
He should wait for His response, when He تعالى says:
❝My servant has lauded Me.❞*

And when he says:
{مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ}
Then he should wait for the response:
❝My servant has Glorified Me.❞*

What a source of delight for the heart, comfort for the eyes and joy for the soul because of the saying of his Lord to him: ❝My servant❞ three times.

By Allaah! Had it not been that the hearts were covered by the smoke of lusts and the fog of desires, the hearts would have been overjoyed and well pleased because of the saying of their Lord and Originator to them:
❝My servant has praised Me; My servant has lauded Me; My servant has Glorified Me.❞

[The Salaah and the rulings pertaining to those who abandon it (1/142)]

* This is in reference to the Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه as reported in Saheeh Muslim (775) and the 4 books of Sunan.

Dua and supplication for cleanliness, coolness, purification and beautification of heart.

Invocation and prayers for  purification, beautification and coolness of Heart

The Prophet ﷺ said,  لَا يَسْتَقِيمُ إِيمَانُ عَبْدٍ حَتَّى يَسْتَقِيمَ قَلْبُهُ
“The faith of the slave cannot be correct until his heart is correct” [Musnad Ahmad: 13071]

Ask Allah:
1. To guide your heart:
اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ قَلْبِي وَسَدِّدْ لِسَانِي وَاسْلُلْ سَخِيمَةَ قَلْبِي
O Allah guide my heart, correct my tongue and remove the spite of my heart. [Musnad Ahmad: 1997]

2. To fill it with light:
 اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا
O Allah make light in my heart. [Sahih Bukhari: 6316]

3. To make it firm:
يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ
O Allah, the Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm on Your religion. [Jami` at-Tirmidhi: 3522]

4. To cleanse it:
O Allah! Wash my heart with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from all sins as a white garment is cleansed from filth. [Sahih Bukhari: 6368]

5. To protect it:
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower. [Holy Quran,Surat Aali Imran: 8]

6. To make it sound:
وَأَسْأَلُكَ قَلْبًا سَلِيمًا وَلِسَانًا صَادِقًا
And I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. [Sunan an-Nasa’i: 1304]

7. To cool it:
O Allah, cool my heart with snow, hail and cold water. O Allah, cleanse my heart of sins as You cleanse a white garment of filth. [Jami` at-Tirmidhi: 3547]

8. To adorn it:
اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الْإِيمَانَ وَزَيِّنْهُ فِي قُلُوبِنَا
O Allah, make us love belief and adorn our hearts with it. [Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 699]"

Narrated `Ali:

Fatima complained about the blisters on her hand because of using a mill-stone. She went to ask the Prophet for servant, but she did not find him (at home) and had to inform `Aisha of her need. When he came, `Aisha informed him about it.

`Ali added: The Prophet (ﷺ) came to us when we had gone to our beds. When I was going to get up, he said, "'Stay in your places," and sat between us, till I felt the coolness of the feet on my chest.

The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, "Shall I not tell you of a thing which is better for you than a servant? When you (both) go to your beds, say 'Allahu Akbar' thirty-four times, and 'Subhan Allah' thirty-three times, 'Al hamdu 'illah' thirty-three times, for that is better for you than a servant." Ibn Seereen said, "Subhan Allah' (is to be said for) thirty-four times."
