What is exact date of death of Prophet Muhammad ( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)?

When did Prophet Muhammad  die( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)  ?

What is the authentic, correct and exact  date of death of Prophet Muhammad ( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)

There is disagreement  and difference of opinion among scholars about date of death of Prophet Muhammad ( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)

 1. The majority are of the view that it occurred on 12th Rabee‘ al-Awwal.

2. al-Khawarizmi was of the view that it occurred on 1st Rabee‘ al-Awwal.

3. Ibn al-Kalbi and Abu Makhnaf were of the view that it occurred on 2nd Rabee‘ al-Awwal. As-Suhayli was inclined to favour this view and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) regarded it as most likely to be correct.

The most well-known view is that of the majority, which is that the death of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) occurred on 12th Rabee‘ al-Awwal 11 AH.

What is exact birth date of Prophet Muhammad ( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)?

When was Prophet Muhammad  born( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)  ?

What is the authentic, correct and exact birth date of Prophet Muhammad ( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)

There is disagreement among scholars about birth date of Prophet Muhammad ( Peace, Blessings and Mercy of Allah be upon him)

1. That he was born on 2nd Rabee ‘ al-Awwal.

Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“It was said that he was born on the second of the month. This was stated by Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr in al-Isti'ab, and was narrated by al-Waqidi from Abu Ma‘shar Nujayh ibn ‘Abd ar-Rahman al-Madani.” (As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199)

2. It was said that he was born on 8th Rabee‘ al-Awwal.

Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“It was said that he was born on the eighth of the month. This was narrated by al-Humaydi from Ibn Hazm, and was narrated by Malik, ‘Aqeel, Yunus ibn Yazeed and others from az-Zuhri from Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut‘im. Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr narrated that the historians regarded it as sahih; it was stated definitively by al-Hafiz al-Kabeer Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi, and was regarded as most likely to be correct by al-Hafiz Abu’l-Khattan ibn Dihyah in his book at-Tanweer fi Mawlid al-Basheer an-Nadheer.” (As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199)

3. It was said that he was born on 10th Rabee ‘ al-Awwal.

Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“It was said that he was born on the tenth of the month. This was narrated by Ibn Dihyah in his book, and was narrated by Ibn ‘Asakir from Abu Ja‘far al-Baqir. It was also narrated by Mujalid from ash-Sha‘bi.” (As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199)

4. It was said that he was born on 12th Rabee ‘ al-Awwal.

Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“It was said that he was born on the twelfth of the month. This was stated by Ibn Ishaq. It was narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah in his Musannaf from ‘Affan from Sa‘eed ibn Mina that Jabir and Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was born in the Year of the Elephant on Monday 12

th Rabee‘ al-Awwal; on Monday his mission began, on Monday he was taken up to heaven, on Monday he migrated, and on Monday he died.

This is the well-known opinion according to the majority. And Allah knows best.” (As-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/199)

It was also said that he was born in Ramadan or in Safar or some other month.

What appears to us to be the case is that the strongest opinion concerning the birth of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is that he was born between the eighth and the twelfth of Rabee‘ al-Awwal. Some Muslim mathematicians and astronomers have determined that the Monday in question was the ninth of Rabee‘ al-Awwal. It may be that this is another opinion, and it has some merit. That corresponds to 20th April 571 CE. This is what the authors of some modern books on Seerah (Prophet’s biography) regard as most likely to be correct, including Professor Muhammad al-Khudari and Safi ar-Rahman al-Mubarakfuri.

Abu’l-Qasim as-Suhayli (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“The mathematicians say that his birth occurred in the solar month of April, on the twentieth of that month.” (Ar-Rawd al-Unuf, 1/282)

Prof. Muhammad al-Khudari (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“The Egyptian astronomer Mahmoud Basha (d. 1885 CE) who was well-versed in astronomy, geography and mathematics, and wrote several books based on his research stated that it was on the morning of Monday 9th Rabee‘ al-Awwal, which corresponds to 20th April 571 CE. That corresponds to the first year following the elephant incident. He was born in the house of Abu Talib in Shi‘ab Banu Hashim.” (Nur al-Yaqeen fi Seerat Sayyid al-Mursaleen (p. 9). Wishing and Congratulating Rabi Al Awwal , Eid e Milad, Prophet's Birthday

Can we wish, greet, celebrate and congratulate birthday of prophet, Eid e milad and Rabi Al Awwal

Answer

It is prohibited. It is newly invented matter in Religion. It is Bidah and Innovation

There is no hadith which reads: “Whoever offers congratulations to people for this blessed month, the Fire will be forbidden for him”, and it is clearly fabricated.

Hence it is not permissible to attribute it to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), because that comes under  telling lies against him, which is haraam and is a major sin.

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever narrates a hadith from me knowing that it is false is one of the liars.” (Narrated by Muslim in the Introduction to as-Sahih, 1/7).

1) Dua for Protecting favours and blessings

The Transliteration:

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min zawali ni’matika, wa tahawwuli ‘afiyatika, wa fuja’ati niqmatika, wa jami’i sakhatika

Some Translate it as:

“O Allah I seek refuge with You from deprivation of Your Blessing, alteration/removal of Your Protection, sudden infliction of Your Anger, and all Your Wrath. ”

The Hadeeth :

Abdullah bin ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to supplicate thus: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min zawali ni’matika, wa tahawwuli ‘afiyatika, wa fuja’ati niqmatika, wa jami’i sakhatika (O Allah! I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your Favours, passing of safety, the suddenness of Your punishment and all that which displeases You).”

[Muslim].

2) Be grateful to Allah.

Surah Ibrahim , Verse 7:

And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.’ “

Benefit: Rewards, blessings and favours will increase.

ungratefulness leads to removal of blessings and favours

Is suggesting, sharing and promoting home remedies and medical advice considered as ongoing good deeds ?

Question on Sawaab e Jariya ( Continuous and ongoing good deeds)

If i share and promote medical advice and home remedies to people, then it will be considered Continuous and ongoing  good deeds and i will get  reward of good deeds even after my after Death

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jaariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous son who will pray for him.”

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked:

With regard to the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), “When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jaariyah), beneficial knowledge…” is what is meant Islamic knowledge, or worldly knowledge?

He replied:

The hadith is general in meaning, and any knowledge that benefits people is something for which a person will attain reward, but first and foremost among that is Islamic knowledge. So if we assume that a person dies having taught another person some permissible craft or trade, from which the one who learned it benefits, then he will attain reward for that." (Liqa’ al-Baab al-Maftooh  117/17).

Mother in Law interferring and using property and things of Daughter in Law

Question of Wife ( Daughter in Law)

Can  my mother in law ( Husband's mother) use my things, belongings and house?

It is the right of the wife to have separate accommodation with her husband, which is shared by no one else, whether the father or the mother or another relative, because Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

{Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means} [at-Talaaq 65:6].

Permission to enter in House

{O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded.

And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, “Go back,” then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do} [an-Noor 24:27-28].

Assistance and Helping mother in law

But the wife should be easy-going in lending whatever she can lend of plates and the like, for Allah, may He be exalted, criticized those who withhold small favours or [simple] assistance, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

{So woe to those who pray,

[But] who are heedless of their prayer,

Those who make show [of their deeds],

And withhold [simple] assistance} [al-Maa‘oon 107:4-7].

Ownership of Husband

But if the items belong to the husband, and are still under his ownership, and were not given to the wife, and it is not the custom that they become the wife’s property in the event of separation, then in this case permission to use them should be sought from the husband, not the wife.

The couple should come to an understanding about the best way to deal with the husband’s mother and respect her feelings without impinging upon the rights of the wife or transgressing against her privacy in her own home and her right to that, and they should work to overcome anything that may cause trouble in order to prevent it, and they should deal with anything that may occur with wisdom, prudence, kindness and deliberation.

Can i offer my salah in Car?

Prayer of a Disabled, wounded, injured, sick person and  patient

How they can offer prayer ( SALAH)

Can i perform prayer in Car?

The Muslims are unanimously agreed that if the worshipper is not able to do some obligatory parts of the prayer – such as standing, reciting, bowing, prostrating, covering the ‘awrah, facing towards the qiblah and so on – then what he is unable to do is waived in his case, and he is only required to do that which,  if he resolves to do it, he will be able to do it.

In fact, it should be understood that although the religious texts stipulate having the ability to comply with the commands and prohibitions, that does not mean that the individual should still comply if doing it will result in some harm. So if a person is able to do some religious duties, but it will cause him some harm, in that case he should be regarded as being like one who is not able to do that thing. This is applicable to many religious obligations, such as purifying oneself with water, fasting when sick, standing in prayer, and so on, in accordance with the words of Allah (interpretation of the meaning):

{Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship} [al-Baqarah 2:185]

{[Allah] has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty} [al-Hajj 22:78]

{Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you} [al-Maa’idah 5:6].

In as-Saheeh it is narrated from Anas that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “You have only been sent to make things easy and you have not been sent to make things difficult.”(Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa  8/438-439).

  2. There is nothing wrong with having some entertainment activities – in fact we strongly encourage that – such as contests and easy, light and fun games, offering prizes to the winners of the contests or to those who have memorized the Book of Allah in its entirety or some parts of it.
  3. The gathering should not be on the basis of tribalism; rather the attendees of the gathering should understand the difference between meeting to uphold ties of kinship  and meeting to uphold familial or tribal sentiments. Those who do good should be praised and those who do wrong should be condemned.
  4. It is possible – and indeed useful – to offer a few words of shar‘i advice and guidance in the gathering, which may be done by a scholar or a seeker of knowledge among the family, and if there is no one among them who can do that, then they can invite someone from outside the family to do this.
  5. You should have a box for donations to support these gatherings, and to help family members when they get married, or have children, or undergo medical treatment, or study, and so on. And there should be another box for zakaah to be distributed to those who are entitled to receive zakaah according to Islamic teachings.
  6. It is preferable to hold the meeting in a spacious venue in which – or close to which – there is a safe place for the children to play and to honour those who have memorized the Book of Allah, or who honour their parents or who adhere to Islamic manners and attitudes. The attendance of the entire family –if their number is few and not will cause any annoyance – is something good, so that the entire family can benefit from the meeting.

Sign, Prediction and Prophecy before Day of Judgement: People will do intercourse on the streets like donkeys

People will fornicate and do intercourse on roads infront of others

People will not feel shame , they will perform intercourse on roads and streets

Zina, Immorality, adultery, fornication will spread before day of Judgement

It was narrated that ‘Abd ar-Rahmaan ibn Ghanm al-Ash‘ari said: Abu ‘Aamir or Abu Maalik al-Ash‘ari told me, and by Allah he did not lie to me, that he heard the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “Among my ummah there will be people who will regard as permissible zina, silk, khamr and musical instruments. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, ‘Come back to us tomorrow.’ Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the others into monkeys and pigs and they will remain like that till the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (5590).

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The Hour will not begin until you copulate in the street like donkeys.”

Narrated by al-Bazzaar (6/345) and Ibn Hibbaan (15/169-170), Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in as-Silsilah as-Saheehah (1/867-869), then he quoted corroborating evidence for it, including the report narrated by Abu Ya‘la in al-Musnad (11/43-44) from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this ummah will not cease to be until a man comes to a woman and has intercourse with her in the street, and the best of them on that day will be the one who says: Why don’t you take her behind this wall?

Sending Salutation on Prophet or Reading Darood Sharif during Khutbah (Sermon)

Listen Khutbah or Send Salutation of Mercy, Peace and Blessings on Prophet

Can we read Darood Sharif ( Sending Salutation of Prophet) during Jumuah Khutbah ( Friday Sermon)

This is not prescribed according to Islamic teachings, because if those who have come to listen to the khutbah send blessings upon the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), they should do so quietly, and not say it out loud.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: During the Jumu’ah khutbah, some imams say: Let us hear you send blessings upon the Prophet from time to time, and more than five or six times during a single khutbah. And he says that in colloquial Arabic. Is that permissible?

He replied:

That is not prescribed, that is not prescribed; he should not say, Let us hear you. Rather what the people must do is listen attentively during the khutbah. What is required of the congregation is to listen attentively to the khateeb so that they can benefit from his khutbah, and if a person quietly sends blessings upon the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) when he hears him being mentioned, this is Sunnah. But he should not raise his voice; rather he should say it quietly to himself so as not to disturb anyone else. End quote.

Boys and Men Piercing their ears, is it good and allowed?

Can boys and men pierce their ears for fashion, culture or religious practices

Although it is established that it is permissible to pierce the ears of a little girl or an adult woman because there is a need for that, it is not permissible to pierce the ears of a boy or a man, because that comes under the heading of inflicting pain needlessly, and because it comes under the heading of imitating women.

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5885).

Ibn ‘Aabideen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Piercing the ears in order to wear earrings is part of the adornment of women, so it is not permissible for males."(Radd al-Muhtaar  6/420).

Selling counterfeit, duplicate and fake clothes, materials and things

Is it allowed to work in company or shop which sells fake, counterfeit and duplicate material, things and clothes by copying logos, brand names of branded products

It is not permissible to sell counterfeit goods claiming that they are original, and it is not permissible to deal in them or distribute them to shops, because that comes under the heading of deceiving the people, lying and defrauding them… and because that comes under the heading of cooperating in sin and transgression, and consuming people’s wealth unlawfully. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

{do not cooperate in sin and transgression} [al-Maa’idah 5:2]

{And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly} [al-Baqarah 2:188].

Moreover, that also causes harm to those who sell the original, non-counterfeit goods, and is competing unlawfully with them.

Giving Bribe to get Job and Admission

 Corruption in Employment and Admission

Bribing to get Job and Admission( Government and Private Sector)

Can we pay money to get job or admission in institution

If you met all the conditions of joining that specialty, and you could not join that specialty except by paying money to that official, then there is no blame on you in this case for paying that money, and the sin is on that official. The scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) stated that if someone pays money in order to get what is rightfully his or to ward off some injustice from himself, then he does not incur the sin of paying bribes in this case.

Al-Khattaabi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

If he pays something in order to get what is rightfully his or in order to ward off some injustice from himself, then he is not included in this warning."(Ma‘aalim as-Sunan  4/161).

Ibn al-Atheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

As for what a person pays in order to get what is rightfully his or to ward off injustice, that is not included in it [i.e., In the prohibition on paying bribes]."(An-Nihaayah fi Ghareeb al-Hadith wa’l-Athar (2/226).

Can we eat and drink in vessels made of Gold and Silver

Eating and Drinking in Gold and Silver Plates, Vessels, Utensils and Glasses

The vessels that are haraam are vessels made of gold or silver only.

That is because of the report narrated by al-Bukhaari (5426) and Muslim (2067) from Hudhayfah, according to which the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not drink from vessels of gold or silver, and do not eat from plates made of the same. They are for them in this world and for us in the hereafter.”

It was narrated from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who drinks from a vessel of silver is gulping the fire of Hell into his belly.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5634) and Muslim (2065).

Whispering in ears , hurts other person

Etiquette, manners and questions related to private and personal conversation and communication

People not involving third person in their conversation, is it allowed?

Islamic Answers and Ruling:

Al-Bukhaari (6290) and Muslim (2184) narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If you are three, two should not converse privately to the exclusion of the other one until you join some other people, so that you do not make him sad.”

At-Tirmidhi (2825) narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If you are three, two should not converse privately to the exclusion of their companion.” Classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan at-Tirmidhi.

There are some cases in which an exception is made from the prohibition on conversing privately that is mentioned in the hadiths:

1.. The first case is when two converse privately with the permission of the third; so if he gives them permission, it is permissible, because of the reports narrated by Ahmad (6302) from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If you are three, two should not converse privately to the exclusion of the third, except with his permission, for that will make him sad.”

2.. The second case is when the number is more than three, in which case it is permissible for two to converse privately to the exclusion of the others, because of the report narrated by Abu Dawood (4581), in which it says: Abu Saalih said: I said to Ibn ‘Umar: (What if they are) four? He said: Then it does not matter.

3.The third case is when there is a need or interest that outweighs any negative consequences of the private conversation. In that case, it is permissible for two to converse to the exclusion of the third.

Can woman combine Zuhr and Asr Salah while travelling on Friday

Question and Answer on Combining Prayers while travelling

Combination of prayer on Friday, Praying Zuhr and Asr Prayers together

Combining Zuhr and Asr Salah while travelling

Jumuah salah and Asr cannot be combined

Jumu‘ah prayer is not obligatory for women, but if a woman prays Jumu‘ah with the imam in the mosque, it is valid on her part.

If the woman is travelling on a Friday, and she did not pray Jumu‘ah with the people in the mosque, then she may put Zuhr and ‘Asr together at the time of the earlier or later prayer, according to what is easy for her.

Abu Hurairah (ra) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach his Companions, saying: “When one of you reached the morning, then let him say: ‘O Allah, by You we enter the morning, and by You we enter the evening, and by You we live, and by You we died, and to You is the Return (Allāhumma bika aṣbaḥnā wa bika amsainā wa bika naḥyā wa bika namūtu wa ilaikal-maṣīr). And when he reaches the evening let him say: ‘O Allah, by You we enter the evening, and by You we enter the morning, and by You we live, and by You we die, and to You is the Resurrection (Allāhumma bika amsainā wa bika aṣbaḥnā wa bika naḥyā wa bika namūtu wa ilaikan-nushūr).’”
