A tragic honor killing incident occurred in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra. A father, Kiran Mangle, a retired CRPF Police Sub Inspector, allegedly shot his daughter, Tripti, for marrying against his wishes. Tripti had married Avinash a year ago and the couple lived in Pune.
On April 26, the couple visited Chopda for a relative's wedding. Mangle reportedly arrived at the venue armed and opened fire, killing Tripti and seriously injuring Avinash.
