Explanation of Dua(Bismillahillazi la yadhurru..)

In the Name of Allah, Who with His Name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing

To be recited three times

Brief Commentary

The Prophet (SallaAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said that reciting this supplication three times in the morning and evening will protect a person, such that nothing can harm him, and no calamity shall befall him [1]
This supplication begins by saying, “In the name of Allah” but doesn’t specify what we are saying it for. This means there is an implied meaning here, and this is general for most instances where we begin by mentioning the name of Allah, we imply something related to the action e.g. before eating we say “In the name of Allah”, implying “In the name of Allah I eat”, before reciting the Qur’an, we say “In the name of Allah”, implying, “In the name of Allah I recite”
In this supplication, there is an implied meaning, in that we are actually saying, “In the name of Allah I seek refuge”
In this supplication, we are not seeking refuge or aid from Allah directly, but we are seeking it with His name. Such is the magnificence of Allah, that even His name alone is sufficient for protection
With the protection of Allah’s name, nothing in the earth can harm you, whether it is a human, jinn, animal, electronic device, or anything else
With the protection of Allah’s name, nothing in the heavens can harm you, whether it is rain, wind, hurricane, lightning, or anything else
Allah is “the All-Hearing” so He can hear all voices at the same time, no matter how low the voice is, and whatever language it is in. He hears it, understands it, and answers it if it is calling Him. All of these meanings are encompassed within this name
Allah is “the All-Knowing” so He knows everything, whether hidden or apparent, whether past, present, or future.

Action Points

Allah’s name is great, so use it before you begin any important matter, such as acts of worship, leaving the house, commencing a task, etc.
When reciting this supplication, ensure your heart’s presence, it’s humility, whilst mentioning Allah’s most beautiful names. Be conscious of the Almighty’s greatness, so that you can truly benefit from this supplication
Make sure you contemplate over Allah’s names, for Allah is “the All-Hearing”, so He hears you whilst you recite this supplication, and He is “the All-Knowing”, so He knows your need when you are reciting this supplication
Imam Al-Qurtubi said “this is an authentic narration, and a true statement based upon textual evidence and experience. Since I heard it, I acted upon it so nothing harmed me until I left it. I was stung by a scorpion at night, and when I pondered over this, I realised I had forgotten to say this supplication that night”. [2]

Reason and causes of supplication not getting answered and dead heart

Our Hearts Die By Way of 10 Things

Ibraaheem bin Aadam (may Allah have mercy upon him) was passing by the market place of al-Basrah and the people gathered around him and said: “Oh father of Ishaaq, why is it that we supplicate but our supplications are not answered?” He said: “That’s because your hearts have died by way of 10 things!” They said: “What are they?!”

He said:

(1) You know Allah but you haven’t fulfilled His right (over you).

(2) You claimed you love the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), then you abandoned his Sunnah.

(3) You have read/recited the Qur’aan but you didn’t implement it.

(4) You have eaten (from) the favor of Allah (upon you) but didn’t fulfill showing gratitude for it.

(5) You said: Indeed the Shaytaan is your enemy but you agreed with him (by obeying him when he calls you to do evil).

(6) You said: Indeed the Paradise is the truth but you didn’t work for it.

(7) You said: Indeed the Hell-Fire is true, but you didn’t flee from it.

(8) You said: Indeed death is true but you didn’t prepare for it.

(9) You woke up from the (state of) sleeping and busied yourself with the faults of the people leaving off your own faults.

(10) You buried your dead but didn’t take a lesson from them.

Everyone killed is not Shaheed or Martyr.

Don't label or call anyone Shaheed or Martyr

⚡ We cannot and should not label anyone as "Shaheed" (martyr) with surety, except those for whom Allaah declared/confirmed their martyrdom in the Qur'aan or through His Prophet in the Sunnah; for all others, we can only pray that Allaah accepts them as "Shaheed".

For we live in an age where the title of “Shaheed” (martyr) is given to anyone and everyone in wholesale. The one who kills himself is called a “Shaheed”; the one who blows-up himself is called a “Shaheed”; the one who is killed while confronting the military of his own country is labeled as “Shaheed”; the one who abandoned his prayer but was killed in a demonstration/rally is labeled as “Shaheed”. It becomes worse when at the death of some people are seen rushing to praise him/her.

Allaah’s help is sought and to Him we complain.

Narrated Umm al-`Alaa’: When the Ansaar drew lots as to which of the Muhaajiroon (emigrants) should dwell with which of the Ansaar, the name of `Uthmaan Ibn Madh`oon came out (to be in their lot). Umm al-`Alaa’ further said: `Uthmaan stayed with us, and we nursed him when he got sick, but he died. We shrouded him in his clothes, and Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ came to our house and I (Umm al-`Alaa’) said, (addressing the dead `Uthmaan): “O Abu al-Saa’ib! May Allaah be merciful to you. I testify that Allaah has honored you.” The Prophet ﷺ said to me: ❝How do you know that Allaah has honored him?❞ I replied: “I do not know, O Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ! May my parents be sacrificed for you.” Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ said: ❝As regards `Uthmaan, by Allaah he has died and I really wish him every good, yet, by Allaah, although I am Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ), I do not know what will be done to him.❞ Umm al- `Alaa’ added: “By Allaah, I shall never attest the piety of anyone after him.”

Evidence and proof of praying at home during pandemic of corona virus

⚡More evidence that it is allowed to pray at home and abandon the congregation when there is Shar`ee need or excuse, even if the people dislike it

🌟Hadeeth #1:
Imaam al-Bukhaaree mentioned the chapter heading: “Chapter: Not to attend the Jumu`ah prayer if it is raining."

Narrated Muhammad Ibn Seereen: On a rainy day Ibn `Abbqas رضي الله عنهما said to his Muadh-dhin: “After saying: “Ash-hadu anna Muhammadar-Rasoolullaah” (I testify that Muhammad is Allaah's Messenger ﷺ), do not say: “Haiya `Alas-Salaah” (come for the prayer) but say: “Pray in your houses.” (The man did so). But the people disliked it. Ibn `Abbaas said: “It was done by one who was much better than I (i.e. the Prophet ﷺ). No doubt, the Jumu`ah prayer is compulsory but I dislike to put you to task by bringing you out walking in mud and slush.”
📚[Saheehain]

🌴🌴🌴

🌟Hadeeth #2:
It was narrated from Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما that the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Whoever hears the call and does not come, his prayer is not valid, except for those who have an excuse.❞
📚[Sunan Ibn Maajah (793) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. See al-Irwaa (551) for more on this Hadeeth]

🌺🌺🌺

📑Note:
1️⃣ It is clear from these two Ahaadeeth that if there is a
Shar`ee excuse, then the people are exempted from attending the prayers in congregation. If they are excused for not attending the congregation because of rain, then not attending the congregation due to the widespread of diseases and illness takes precedence, especially if they are contagious. This is further supported by the following Hadeeth:

`Amr al-Shareed reported that his father said: Among the delegation of Thaqeef there was a man who suffered from leprosy. The Prophet ﷺ sent word to him saying: “Go back, for I have accepted your pledge.”
📚[Saheeh Muslim (2231)]

2️⃣ The unawareness or ignorance of some people should not bother you. The companions of Ibn `Abbaas disliked his action, but what he did was based upon sure knowledge. Therefore, the emotions are to be ignored when there is sure knowledge, as Allaah تعالى says:

وَمَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا

{And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.}
📚 [Surah al-Najm (53): 28]

Reward of staying in home during pandemic of corona virus

*Reward of staying indoor during the outbreak of pandemic*.

It has been reported from the Prophet that whosoever remains in his house during the outbreak of an epidemic, will have the reward of a martyr even if he doesn't die (from the outbreak).

Meanwhile, the narration was reported authentically from Aaishah, the Mother of the Believers (May Allaah be pleased with her) that she said:

I asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) about an epidemic. Then the Messenger of Allaah informed me that an epidemic is a punishment which Allaah descends upon whom He likes but rather a mercy upon the Believers. And there is no one whom a epidemic strikes in his land but remains patiently in his house expecting Allaah's reward upon his self-restraint while knowing that nothing will afflict him except what Allaah had predestined except that he will have for himself the similitude of the reward of a martyr.

The chain of transmission is authentic according to the stipulations of Al-Bukhaari.

It was reported by Al-Bukhaari (3437), An-Nasaai (7527) in As-Sunnan Al-Kubraa and Ahmad (26139) while the wording of this particular narration is that of Ahmad.

Ibn Hajar (May Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The text of the narration stipulates that whosoever attains the attributes mentioned (in the hadeeth) will have the reward of a martyr even if he doesn't die from the epidemic.

[Fathul Baariy (10/194)]

*So, staying aloof from assemblies and gatherings whether religious or social during this pandemic period is itself a means of attaining a lofty status before Allaah.*

May Allaah reward our patience with good.

Masjid closed down due to pandemic of corona virus.

With all the *debates* around whether the mosque remain *open or not*, we may find people with emotions and emaan rush fighting tooth and nail to keep the mosque open, may Allaah increase in his emotions for goodness. Some may support him while others may oppose. All we need to do is *keep our opinions to ourselves and obey what is decided by the elders (or leaders of the community in whatever form they are [president, chairmen, ameer]), scholars and the government (Yes!! The government).* And while we obey them we do not forget that it is upon us to obey the commandments of Allah, especially the ayah :

*وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ - 2:43
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].*

And the hadith:

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, *“The entire earth has been made a place of prayer, except for graveyards and washrooms.”*

In short: if not before then be it now, *be regular* in your salaath along with the ones around you.

And we pray Allaah to guide us all. Aameen!

Causes, reasons and foundation of shirk and associating partners with Allah

The foundation of Shirk are two:

1️⃣ Extreme veneration or love for someone or something:

🌟Narrated `Umar رضي الله عنه: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: ❝Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised (Eesaa) Ibn Maryam, for I am only a Slave. So, call me the Slave of Allaah and His Messenger.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (3445 & 6830)]

🌟Another evidence is the narration of Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما, as reported in Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, where he explained how Shirk had started in the people of Nooh عليه السلام. All those idols that were worshiped were of righteous people.

➡️ The Hindus love of wealth made them worship Laxmi, the "goddess" of wealth.

2️⃣ Fear of something:
Shaitaan

{It is only Shaitaan that suggests to you the fear of his Auliyaa' [supporters and friends (polytheists, disbelievers)], so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers}
📚 [Surah aal-Imraan (3): 175]

Shaitaan uses his means to scare people into committing Shirk (associating partners with Allaah in worship) and acts of Kufr (disbelief).

In the past, whenever the people feared something, they worshiped it and offered it sacrifices and other offerings to please it, to try to calm it down, to seeks its protection.

An ignorant person will do anything to save himself when frightened, including acts of Shirk and Kufr.

➡️ One such recent case is where some ignorant Hindus conducted prayers and offered sweets to Coronavirus (COVID-19) to calm down and not to harm them. Even though this was a very small group of people, yet it is an example to learn from.

Don't forward and trust fake videos of corona virus on social media, face book, whatsApp, twitter

O you who believe! If a Faasiq (evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done” [Holy Quran al-Hujuraat 49:6]

Ask the people in charge
The people in charge can explain the facts of the matter and remove any confusion or doubts a person may have,

“When there comes to them some matter touching (public) safety or fear, they make it known (among the people); if only they had referred it to the Messenger or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have understood it from them (directly). Had it not been for the Grace and Mercy of Allaah upon you, you would have followed Shaytaan (Satan), save a few of you” [al-Nisaa’ :83]

“Not a word is said except that there is a watcher by him ready to record it.” – [Surah Qaf :18]

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:

“Deliberation is from Allaah and haste is from  Shaytaan.” (al-Silsilah al-Saheehah)

Allaah says:

“Behold, you received it on your tongues, and said out of your mouths things which you had no knowledge of; and you thought it to be a light matter, while it was most serious in the sight of Allaah” (Surah Nur: 15

People are circulating loads of fake videos, fake news,lies...on Social media . Beware

The Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:

“It is enough lying for a man to speak of everything that he hears.” (Muslim)

“Since they produce not witnesses, they are the liars in the sight of Allaah” [al-Noor 24:13]

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said,

” Indeed a servant may say a word from which Allah’s displeasure is gained and he does not realize it. Allah will put him in Jahannam due to it.” (Bukhaari)

Pandemic of corona virus reminds of repentance and turning towards straight path

Surah As-Sajda, Verse 21:

And indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return.
