'Abdullaah ibn al-Mubarak (رحمه الله) said,
"I have seen that sins kill the hearts.
And indeed humiliation is inherited by their continuity.
And abandoning sins gives life to the hearts.
And it is better for your soul that you disobey it (when it calls you to sins)"
