Ethopian Airlines Crash:Be prepared for death and Akhirah

157 people were on board Ethiopian Airlines when the plane crashed yesterday on Sunday, March 10.

The majority of passengers were Muslims and not a single person survived the accident.

In a matter of minutes, 157 lives were lost. Not a single passenger had imagined that this would be their last day on Earth.

Death is inevitable, but do we ever ponder on our time? Do we ever think if perhaps this is my last day? Or is DENIAL the defense mechanism dominating our thoughts?

Are lessons being derived from these stories? Or are we just putting off moments of introspection that question our relationship with Allah?

"If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."  - Ibn `Umar

May Allah have mercy on the souls of the believers and may He pour patience upon the hearts of all those who have lost a loved one on that plane.
