Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said:
Islam is based on five things : to bear witness that there is no God except Allah and Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is the messenger of Allah, to perform salah, to fast in the month of Ramadhan, to pay Zakah and to perform Hajj. (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)
