Al-Imām ibn Abdil-Barr [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“Iyās bin Qatāda [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him] saw a strand of white hair in his beard and said:

‘I see death is searching for me, and I see that I will not escape it. I seek refuge in You, O’ Lord, from a sudden death.’”
