How to live happy life?: Follow Salaf and avoid Khalaf and Innovation

 Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani رحمه الله said: *“The happy one is the one who sticks to what the Salaf were upon, and avoids what was innovated by the Khalaf.”*

Poverty, sickness, calamities are test to check gratitude and patience

 

Condition in grave will depend on Heart

 Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: *"The state of the slave in the grave is like the state of the heart in the chest. So if you want to know the state of your grave; look at the state of your heart in your chest."*

We should always pray for our heart.

O Allah ! turner and controller of heart, direct our heart towards your obedience.

A du’aa that he mentioned pertaining to this is:

Oh Turner of the Hearts, keep our Hearts firm on Your Religion

Yaa Muqallibal Quloob Thabbit Qalbee ‘alaa Deenik.

“Oh turner of the hearts (Allah, the Most High), keep our hearts firm on your religion“

If Allaah wills, He can seal the heart from guidance. Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin al-‘Aas said, that he heard Allaah’s Messenger saying,

“All the hearts of the offspring of Aadam are between two fingers of Ar-Rehman’s Fingers, as one heart. He turns it (in any direction) as He wills. Then Allaah’s Messenger said, “O Allaah! The Turner of the hearts, turn our heart towards Your obedience.” [Saheeh Muslim vol.4, p.1397, no.6418]

Strenuous and most difficult task is controlling tongue

Controlling tongue is difficult than Hajj and Jihad.

Many sins, evil deeds and wrong doings are due to tongue. 

Hence, we should control our tongue

 

Sincere advice about repentance from sins and wrongdoings: Sudden and unexpected death

 

Death is sudden and unexpected: Tawbah and repentance should not be delayed and postponed.

Holy prophet Muhammad ( Peace be upon him) said:

Intelligent person remembers death and prepares for it.

Tips and advice for living long life and becoming wealthy

 Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "Whoever is pleased that he be granted more wealth and that his lease of life be prolonged, then he should keep good relations with his Kith and kin."

*Sahih al-Bukhari 5985*

Tips, advice and Solutions for increase in honour, wealth and status

 Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.

*Sahih Muslim 2588*

Which charity is " Best Charity" ?

 A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, which charity has the greatest reward?” The Prophet said, *“That you give charity while you are healthy, greedy, fearing poverty, and hoping to be rich."*

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1419

Get your Duas( prayers) accepted: Supplicate with two beautiful names of Allah

 

Knowledge is superior and better than position of power

 Shaykh Muqbil: ❝The People of the Sunnah consider the call to Allaah -- and they consider beneficial knowledge -- to be higher than [seeking] positions of power.❞

Truth and difference of opinion.

 Shaykh ul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ يَحْكِي الْخِلَافَ وَلَا يَعْرِفُ الْحَق

*"Many people speak about differences of opinion, while they themselves do not even know the truth!"*

[Minhāj al-Sunnah an-Nabawīyyah, 5/282]

 Students in Madrasa learn compassion, empathy, patience, which are required for clearing exam

Crimes were great and severe but mercy and forgiveness were greater..

 •Do you know the Prophet's ﷺ daughter, Zaynab fell off a camel and suffered a miscarriage because of a man named Habbar who was trying to prevent her from migrating?? 

Many years later, he came to Rasūlullāh ﷺ and guess what? the Prophet forgave him and he accepted Islam. 

•’Utba married the Prophet's daughter, Ruqayyah and divorced her out of spite. He came to Rasūlullāh ﷺ years later. Guess what? 

The Prophet ﷺ forgave him and he accepted Islam. 

•The son of Abu Jahl waged war against him for two decades. Guess what? 

He came years later and Rasūlullāh ﷺ forgave him and he accepted Islam. 

•Wahshi killed the Prophet's uncle Hamza. He came years later and guess what? 

Rasūlullāh ﷺ forgave him and he accepted Islam. 

• Uthman ibn Talha would prevent him for entering the Ka'bah. Rasūlullāh ﷺ conquered Makkah and guess what? 

The Prophet ﷺ forgave him and gave him and his family the keys for the Ka'bah until the end of time; and he accepted Islam. 

• Fadala came to assassinate Rasūlullāh whilst he was making Tawaf and guess what? 

He placed his hand on his chest, forgave him, and he accepted Islam.

Brothers and sisters, people have wronged you? Mocked you? Done bad to you? Cut you off? 

Learn from Rasūlullāh ﷺ. Their crimes were great but his mercy was greater.

Hidden Shirk: Dangerous than False Messiah

 Showing off is hidden Shirk and dangerous than False Messiah

Two honourable and precious things: Hard earned income( money) and deed according to sunnah.

 Yūnus bin ‘Ubayd [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him] said:

“There is nothing more honourable than two things: 

‘A good _dirham_ [money, earnt and spent lawfully] and a man who performs an act according to the traditions and practices of the Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.’”

Siyar A’lām an-Nubalā’a, 6/290 | Al-Imām adh-Dhahabi [may Allāh have mercy on him]

Beware of Corrupted and Diseased Knowledge: Signs of Bad and Useless Knowledge

 Ibn al-Qayyim said:

*Any knowledge or (act of worship) which does not increase the eemaan in strength is corrupted/diseased* [AlFawaaid p-162]

Relationship between knowledge and Eeman( Faith)

Good knowledge and sincere worship increase Eeman( Faith)

Avoid self appreciation: Praise others

 Status of Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar( May Allah be pleased with them)

“A man said to ‘Umar [ibn al-Khattāb] [may Allāh be pleased with him]: ‘I have never seen a man better than you.’

‘Umar [ibn al-Khattāb] [may Allāh be pleased with him] said to him: ‘Have you seen Abu Bakr [may Allāh be pleased with him]?

 

The man replied: ‘No.’

‘Umar [ibn al-Khattāb] [may Allāh be pleased with him] replied: ‘If you had said yes [I have seen Abu Bakr], I would have [certainly] flogged you!’”
