Importance, benefits and rewards of remembrance of Allah

Importance and rewards of ZikruAllah

Remember Allah so He Remembers You!

When we remember Allah, He remembers us. Let’s reflect on the following verse and some of the the Ahadith of the prophet to see the benefits of remembering Allah.

Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying), I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favors on you) and never be ungrateful to Me.” Quran (2:152)
Narrated Abu Hurairah The Prophet said, "Allah says, I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am Able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than them; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running. (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.9, Hadîth No.502).
And Abu Dawood narrated from Abu’l-Dardaa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds and that which is most pure in the sight of your Lord, that which raises you more in status and is better for you than giving gold and silver (in charity), and better than your meeting your enemy and striking their necks and they strike your necks?’ They said, ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said, ‘Remembering Allah (dhikr).’”
Ibn Taymiyyah stated that,
..one should persist in remembering Allah in general, the best of which is Laa ilaaha ill-Allah. There may be some situations where certain kinds of dhikr are preferable, such as saying Subhaana Allah wa’l-hamdu-Lillaah wa Allahu akbar wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah.
Moreover, one should realize that everything that the tongue utters or the heart imagines that may bring one closer to Allah, such as seeking knowledge or teaching, enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, is a kind of dhikr or remembering Allah. Hence the one who occupies himself in the pursuit of beneficial knowledge after performing the obligatory duties, or who joins a gathering in order to learn or teach, which Allah and His Messenger have called fiqh or understanding, is also doing something which is one of the best forms of remembering Allah (dhikr). [al-Wasiyyah al-Jaami’ah li Khayr al-Dunya wa’l-Aakhirah]
It was reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"There are seven whom Allah will shade with His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His: (1) the just ruler; (2) a young man who grows up worshipping his Lord; (3) a man whose heart is attached to the mosque; (4) two men who love one another for the sake of Allah and meet and part on that basis; (5) a man who is called by a woman of rank and beauty and says `I fear Allah’; (6) a man who gives in charity and conceals it to such an extent that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives; and (7) a man who remembers Allah when he is alone, and his eyes fill up." (Agreed upon, narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 620; Muslim, no. 1712; and others).
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "When I say `Subhaan Allaah, wa’l-hamdu Lillah, wa laa ilaah ill-Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar (Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah, and Allaah is Most Great)’, this is more beloved to me than all that the sun rises upon." (Narrated by Muslim).

Conclusion: Fill your time with as much Zikrullah as possible and Allah will remember you
